Dean Torrence supports Huntington Beach, because he lives there. But Santa Cruz has the biggest waves.

Not only that, but Santa Cruz gave us the wetsuit too, right? Well, what does it say in the song?

"I'll strap my board to my back and hitch a ride in my wetsuit" . . . Hmmmm, which tells us that our fictional surfers in the song were surfing where the water was cold . . . Somewhere like Santa Cruz.

Long story short . . . it's just a marketing ploy (supported by its hometown resident, Dean Torrence, who stands to make money from the venture). And why not?

But the song was not written about Huntington Beach (or any other specific place).

Mark A. MooreAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
